Except for pharmaceutical poison, there are essentially only two drugs that Western civilization tolerates: Caffeine from Monday to Friday to energize you enough to make you a productive member of society, and alcohol from Friday to Monday to keep you too stupid to figure out the prison that you are living in.
For The Fools Who Live By Quotes
“What would excite you?”
The question came on the tail end of a quote I wish I could find again. It talked about how when we ask what to do next, we’re really asking what is expected of us. We’re looking for the next reasonable thing to do. That’s a mistake. The correct approach, according to this forgotten quote, is to follow our passion and ask, “what would excite me?”
It’s similar to a quote that ran on Red Lipped Warriors this week:
Choose fear! Follow your passion! It sounds like the great minds of the world want us to live reckless. Like a movie, a thriller to be exact.
But real life thrills aren’t nearly as cute as the movies. Life doesn’t follow formulas. There is a very real and present danger of falling on your face.
